Some private nursing training institutions are allegedly enrolling students, who do NOT have the necessary Grade 12 qualifications.

Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia Registrar, BEAUTY ZIMBA says 42 training institutions countrywide have been cautioned on the matter.

Ms ZIMBA says the illegality was discovered during the obtaining of Student Index Numbers by the training institutions.

She has explained that some institutions attempted to obtain index numbers for students who enrolled in 2022 and were still re-writing their General Certificate of Education -GCE- examinations in 2024.
