An 18-year-old man of Ngwenya Compound in Livingstone has being sodomized by a friend following a night of drinking.
According to a police report filed at Mbita Police Post under Libuyu Police Station, the incident occurred on April 20, 2025, around 20:10 hours in Zecco Compound. The victim alleges that he was attacked by a man known only as Norman, believed to be from Libuyu Compound.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Auxensio Daka confirmed the incident in a statement, revealing that the incident followed a drinking session at Martin’s Bar in Ngwenya Compound. After running out of money, the suspect reportedly suggested they continue drinking at his residence in Libuyu Compound.
“While en route and still within Zecco Compound, near the Muramba stream, the suspect allegedly forcefully grabbed and sodomized the victim, who was in a drunken state,” said Mr. Daka. “The victim’s cries for help caused the suspect to flee the scene.”
The victim, who sustained a painful anus and general body pains, reported the incident to police around 22:50 hours and was issued a medical form for examination. No arrests have been made yet, but investigations are ongoing.
Police have urged anyone with information that may assist in locating the suspect to come forward.
