POLICE in Chipata have arrested a Malawian national on allegations of defiling a mentally challenged female only identified as Mampi.

28-year-old Dalikel Kwenda, is reported to have disregarded his neighbourly courtesy by violating the respect given to guests by preying on Mampi to satisfy his own twisted desires.
According to authorities Kwenda had canal knowledge of Mampi at Mwami Trading Centre.
Eastern Province police commamfing officer, Robertson Mweemba confirmed to #Kalemba that the incident happened on Tuesday at around 05:00 hours.
According to Mweemba, the report was made by a 19-year-old concerned citizen identified as Jeremiah Moulo of Mwami Trading Centre.
“The suspect was apprehended and detained in police custody while a medical report was issued to the victim,” added Mweemba.
