Former president Lungu’s Family lawyer, Makebi Zulu, says President Hakainde Hichilema should respect the wishes of the late president’s family by not insisting on attending his funeral, arguing that “he won’t die if he misses it.”
Featuring on Emmanuel Mwamba’s podcast, Monday, Zulu said there was no need for President Hichilema to force his presence at the funeral when the family believes his attendance would compromise the dignity of the send-off.
“If the family feels a dignified send-off for president Edgar Chagwa Lungu would require that you are absent, give it to them.

These buffoons they coaxed and dragged ECL from enjoying his retirement quietly. If Lungu had remained in his political retirement and statesmanship, HH and Lungu were going to be friends. But the buffoons, realizing that they were the have nots, they canningly managed to put him in the big chair of hatred. And all lungu practiced in that chair was just hatred against HH. They even made ECL with hatred in his kachasu saturated heart against HH. No repentance. They will burry him with the evil hatred against HH. They are not even ashamed to speak to the world and the spirits around them, to continue saying that ECL died with great sinful and forgiving heart against HH. Instead of saying, ECL died with a pure heart, no hatred against anyone. But they are ever saying he died with a dirty sinful heart. What a a bunch of sinful and unrealistic bafoons.
This idyot has gone too far. Do we still have an active UPND youth movement somewhere. HH is Head of State and was elected by Zambians not Esther Lungu and Makebi Zulu. It is stupid and ridiculous for Makebi Zulu to be issuing such insults.
Our UPND youths should not be blamed when they take measures to deal with those insulting HH starting with the rogue failed lawyer, Makebi Zulu! They are equal to the task and they shall deal with him effectively. Where is Why me? Watch this space.

A very simplistic approach to the issue by a lawyer who is supposed to know better. The President is the physical representation of the State and it is absurd to expect him to be absent at a STATE funeral. It is like saying it is alright if Mrs. Esther Lungu is not at the burial if the State wins the case, after all she won’t die and her late husband will be buried with full State honours.
