If ever you are invited to State House, let me caution you that they don’t play. People do their work.
Can I tell you the story of that ka jacket, in the pic?
We get told – wear black, navy blue or grey. I get to the gate in my black short sleeved, surely formal, dress. Ati – no it must be long sleeved.
Rare time I wear heels, they don’t like my sandals either. You must wear closed shoes.
Can I go and change – no, you will be late.
Officer says – come with me.
Takes me to a side room. Gives me her jacket and shoes. Shoes are a size too big and I say so. Ati – it’s OK.
She gives me tissue to stuff them.

Let me give you a simple task, go out of your house, check around your community and see how many houses have been belt in the last 10 years and other business structures! You will realise that it’s almost half or double what existed before. You don’t expect stable electricity that was meant for few structures without more expansion on the electricity generation which take time to invest inn. What I know is that a woman and her wardrobe are like Siamese Twins. When a woman leaves her home, she should take care of herself, what she should wear, and even contingencies. That’s why women always move with hand bags.
And a woman invited to State house , for a swearing ceremony should honestly know what to wear. Swearing ceremonies have not started in Hakainde’s Zambia. They are as old as Zambia, and we see how people dress at such occasions.
But here is a woman who goes to a Swearing ceremony in Sandals and a blouse! And she has to be bailed out by a state house official!

She is right. But it must be added that its about institutional memory rather than HH as president. You cannot attend an official event at state house wearing red clothes or wearing short sleeves as she attempted to do.
