A Choma resident, Joe Muchindu says no one but the residents themselves can spearhead developmental activities in the district.
And Muchindu has donated animals worth over K36,000 to a newly formed NGO to help it get established.
Speaking at the launch of Hope Horizon Foundation, a non – governmental organization, Muchindu who is also Choma central parliamentary hope under the ruling UPND, stated that with the partnership of such organizations, people’s lives can be improved.
He commended it’s founders for the initiative which aims at looking into the welfare of vulnerable persons in the community.
Muchindu said, if the people of Choma want to see the desired development, no one apart from area’s residents would change the status of the constituency.
Meanwhile, Muchindu who earlier on graced a music launch at SDA uphill congregation, emphasized the need for unity as key to constituency development.
The outspoken community leader also empowered the church with a monitory contribution to help the music group, further commending the music group for ministration of the gospel message through music.
He added that his office remains open for suggestions of community projects beneficial to the masses.
Speaking earlier on, Hope Horizon executive director Luckson Simaambo explained that over 50 vulnerable children, five persons with disabilities and five elderly woman are currently being supported by the foundation.
“We are thankful for your support Sir as you may be aware that we are planning to build an orphanage. Your donation will surely go long way in this agenda,” were Simaambo’s words to Muchindu.
Muchindu is in Choma central at the invitation of various traditional leaders and other groupings for community engagements.
Muchindu has continued receiving endorsements from various leadership in Choma as well as the general public as their next MP in next year’s elections.
