Epistles of Christ Network Foundation is concerned with the increase of number of street kids in rural Petauke district.
And the foundation has partnered with Enlightened Conquerors church in an effort to address issues affecting vulnerable persons in society.
Foundation’s executive director Ruth Machina says the partnership with the church comes at the right time when society was battling to deal with junkies that are terrorizing members of the community.
Machina says the foundation is concerned with the increase in number of children roaming the streets in Petauke district.
She says the partnership with the church would go a long way in offering care and support to vulnerable children.
“We are very honored as a foundation the coming on board by Enlightened Conquerors church. We have a lot of children needing care and support as you know some of these children are orphans who might not have a choice but roam the streets, and in the end, they end up being junkies. Here in Petauke we have seen an increase in street kids and this needs to be looked at seriously by all concerned stakeholders, the church included,” Machina said.
Machina explained that Enlightened Conquerors Church overseer for Zambia and Malawi, prophet Chris Judah will among others be conducting door to door visits in the district, educating households on family values, as well as offering counseling.
She added that the targeted children will also be assisted with basic needs that will enable them live dignified lives in the community.
Machina has since commended Enlightened Conquerors church for partnering with her foundation, further calling on others to emulate the church.
Machina announced the development Friday morning in Petauke, Eastern province.
