President Hakainde Hichilema has urged Zambians to embrace unity and education as key drivers of the country’s development, stating that progress can only be achieved when citizens work together regardless of their differences.
The Head of State said this today when he joined congregants at the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Kwacha East Congregation in Kitwe during his working visit to the Copperbelt.
In his message to the church, President Hichilema described unity as the cornerstone of both social and economic transformation, warning that divisions only slow down national progress.
“We are all children of God, and through collaboration, we can build a stronger and more prosperous nation,” President Hichilema said
Meanwhile, the President donated K1.3 million to support UCZ church activities and infrastructure.
According to the allocation, K700,000 will go to Kwacha East UCZ, K500,000 has been given to Mindolo UCZ, while K100,000 has been set aside to support the UCZ choir.
The Head of State also reminded those serving in government and other public offices that leadership is about service to all, not a privilege for a few selected individuals.
“Those entrusted with public office bear the duty to serve all citizens impartially,” the President added.
President Hichilema’s two-day working visit to the Copperbelt includes a series of engagements with communities and stakeholders to share his administration’s development priorities.
