Kitwe – Aspiring Mayor Chambala Mazimba has emphasized the need for community-driven initiatives to improve sanitation in Kitwe.
Mazimba made the call amid growing concerns over poor waste management practices in the city.
“The current state of sanitation in Kitwe is a serious concern, with blocked drainage and indiscriminate garbage disposal posing health risks to residents,” Mazimba said.
“As mayor, I will prioritize modern waste disposal systems and encourage community participation in maintaining cleanliness.”
Mazimba’s agenda for improving sanitation in Kitwe includes investing in waste management infrastructure and promoting corporate social responsibility among local businesses.
“We can transform Kitwe into a healthier city when we all work together as government, the private sector, and the community,” he added.
Mazimba’s proposals aim to address the city’s sanitation challenges and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for Kitwe residents.
