Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) Kalomo Central member of parliament Harry Kamboni says increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has kwenyuladi (delivered) various departmental projects in his constituency.
And Kamboni says it is unfortunate that some parliamentarians were not utilizing CDF in their constituencies.
Highlighting some developmental achievements scored in his constituency at a media briefing, Wednesday morning, Kamboni disclosed that Kalomo Central has seen unprecedented development under CDF.
Kamboni said since increasing CDF, his constituency has been transformed.
He said the youth in Kalomo Central had been empowered with skills courtesy of CDF – funded scholarships.
“We currently have 900 students in school being funded under CDF receiving empowerments in various skills such as carpentry, engineering and many others.
“If you remove this government in 2026, these youths will go on the streets and become junkies,” Kamboni said.
Among the projects the parliamentarian highlighted were improved road network, construction of classroom blocks as well as the building of health facilities and staff houses.
Kamboni has since challenged critics to give credit where it is due.
“There is money there being underutilized and it is unfortunate. When you are an MP, you have an obligation to deliver to your people,” he added.
